GEI’s Bloomfield office is seeking a motivated & experienced Geotechnical Engineer to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Project types will include buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, waterfront development, excavation support systems, and remediation.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform geotechnical analysis and design, and present data and results.
- Observe and manage field explorations, in situ infiltration testing, and construction activities.
- Design and implement geotechnical instrumentation projects.
- Assist in preparing full design packages with calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Assist in overseeing construction of specialty geotechnical items such as deep foundations, tiebacks, and grouting among others.
- Write letters, reports, and other deliverables.
- Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Geotechnical course work required. Structural course work a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Must have passed the F.E. exam, Professional Engineer’s license a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Travel to job locations as needed.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to perform field work on active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
