GEI’s Ithaca, New York office is seeking a Project Ecologist to broaden our Ecology Practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in ecological restoration, threatened and endangered species surveys, aquatic ecology, or other ecological practice beyond wetland delineation and permitting. The ideal candidate will be able to generate work through their current relationships and client network. 

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Grow our Ecology practice by diversifying our skillset.
  • Train and mentor junior ecologists.
  • Perform business development.
  • Manage clients, projects, and tasks.
  • Travel and perform field work as necessitated by projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Expertise in an ecological discipline beyond wetland delineation and permitting.
  • Existing clients, contacts, or leads.
  • Strong technical writing, report preparation, and communication skills.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license.
