Essential Responsibilities & Duties
 
GEI is seeking a motivated individual to join the firm as a Hydrology and Hydraulics Engineer.  The core responsibilities and duties for this position include the following:
  • Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic analyses to solve complex water resources problems over a wide range of applications.
  • Develop numerical models for hydrologic, hydraulic, and reservoir operations studies.
  • Perform hydraulic design of culverts, pumps, open channels, and other hydraulic structures.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external clients.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and memoranda and present technical information to peers and clients.
  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development efforts.
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Water Resources related fields, or related education.
Education Requirements:
  • B.S in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred) in water resources related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in California.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and work as part of a team.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS is a must and experience with HEC-HMS, and HEC-ResSim is a plus.
  • Knowledge of California water history and systems is desirable.
  • Familiarity with GIS and CAD applications is preferred.
  • Possession of valid driver’s license required.
