GEI seeks a Marketing Manager to help support growth in East Region with the production of high-quality proposal and qualification efforts and to support the regions ongoing development and implementation of the region’s strategic planning efforts. The Marketing Manager for will work across GEI’s East region leading large scale strategic proposal efforts and serving in a management and reviewer role for mid to small scale proposals. They will also work with our talented team of seller-doers to drive business in offices in the Mid-Atlantic (Southern New Jersey to Virginia). This marketer will produce high quality, winning proposal and qualification packages, support business development efforts and identify opportunities, and provide a deep knowledge and understanding of marketing in the AEC industry.  The successful candidate is organized and can easily handle multiple deadline driven opportunities at once; run effective Go/No-Go discussions; drive the proposal process from Go/No-Go through proposal submission, interview, and debrief; and has a strong desire and ability to execute high quality marketing products.

The Marketing Professional will be part of GEI’s highly respected marketing organization at GEI and a member of the East Region marketing team reporting to the East Region Marketing Manager. This position may support other marketing efforts across the country. As a part of this larger team, there is ample opportunity for mentorship, growth, and teamwork.
 
This position may be located in any of GEI’s offices along the East coast from Maine to Virigina though location is preferred at GEI’s headquarters in Woburn, MA. Many marketing staff are centrally located in Woburn, MA which provides for a lively, collaborative marketing team environment. Monthly to quarterly travel to other offices anticipated.
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Provide marketing support for opportunities through the entire sales cycle including opportunity and lead identification and tracking, Go/No-Go discussions, capture planning, proposal management and development, and interview support.
  • Support development of proposals; understand RFP requirements; develop and pro-actively manage task list and process; update and prepare documents (resumes, project write-ups, proposals, company services, matrices, SOQs, SF330 and other related documents); edit covers and graphics, content development, format, review, and edit final documents, coordinate subconsultant documents, produce final proposals; QA/QC all work products and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Create responses to RFPs, SOQs, RFIs, and MSAs.  Responsible for proposal/document quality, compliance, consistency in pursuit strategy/proposal themes, production, on time delivery, and win tracking.
  • Drive Go/No-Go discussions in alignment with the region’s strategic priorities.
  • Oversee the strategy and execution of prequalification submittals and renewals, sponsorships, and Mid-Atlantic conferences with support from others.
  • Serve as senior marketing reviewer on proposals as needed. Assist with mentorship and growth of junior staff.
  • Update/maintain various written marketing collateral including project sheets, resumes, award submittals, brochures, templates, media relations pieces, and project interview content.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of company marketing events such as conferences, seminars, and other outreach events. This may include virtual and/or in person events.
  • Involvement with marketing professional societies or similar organizations to ensure continuous professional development. Participate in professional society events to promote networking and client relations.
  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with senior seller-doers.
  • Maintain current information in the marketing databases related to opportunities, projects, personnel, and general knowledge. Develops reports to extract information from the marketing database.
  • Provides market intelligence research, including gathering, documenting, and reporting findings.
  • Responsible for managing multiple marketing efforts running concurrently in varying complexity and value; scheduling workload and priorities accordingly.
  • Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, English or Journalism is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of marketing experience in the AEC industry.
  • Experience in Marketing and proposal response efforts.
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills; ability to perform detail-oriented work, including document layout and production.
  • A team player with strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
  • Able to excel at detail-oriented work, including document layout and production while focusing on the larger strategy
  • Technology: Proficient working with MS Office products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe InDesign. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design application packages.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to independently handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Travel: Some travel expected across the region to visit Mid-Atlantic offices and to national conferences. Less than 15% travel anticipated.
